Esta obra ofrece la caracterización geoepidemiológica de la tendencia y riesgos de mortalidad en el Caribe colombiano entre los años 2008-2015; para ello se tuvieron en cuenta las causas y riesgos de muerte en los distintos departamentos, según la edad y sexo. La investigación, desarrollada por un equipo multidisciplinar de la Universidad del Norte, logró estimar el riesgo de mortalidad de las 23 principales patologías que afectan a los individuos de la región, mediante el uso de técnicas estadísticas bayesianas. La información proporcionada es de gran utilidad para la formulación de programas de promoción de la salud y la elaboración de políticas dirigidas a la prevención de enfermedades.
