En la actualidad, el propósito de la investigación de aula ( Sholarship of teaching and Learning o SoTL en su abreviatura en inglés) no es sólo impactar la enseñanza apredizaje, sino formalmente, divulgar sus hallazgos en publicaciones revisadas por pares para contribuir a aumentar la literatura sobre enseñanza, aprendizaje; así mismo, facilitar exponer desde la idea de origen de un proyecto de investigación de aula hasta la publicación de un artículo sobre el trabajo adelantado por el docente ( Bishop Clark Dietz Uhler , 2012). Así las cosas, la investigación de aula estaría conformada por cinco pasos : Identificación de la pregunta problema, diseño del estudio , recolección de datos, análisis de datos, presentación de los resultados.
