La cuestión catalana, el problemático encaje de Cataluña en España, no es un invento. Viene de lejos. Se nutren de ella, y la sobrealimentan, dos movimientos inversos y enfrentados: el nacionalismo periférico catalán y el nacionalismo centralista español. Y lo hacen cada vez con más ahínco. Aun así, no está escrito que deba intentar resolverse por vías traumáticas, rompiendo lazos. La temperatura del litigio ha subido espectacularmente desde 2012. ¿Han optado los catalanes, súbitamente y en bloque, por independizarse de España? Hay más radicalidad, más independentistas, aunque no más soberanistas. Las posiciones de la ciudadanía son muy plurales, pero desde la famosa sentencia del Tribunal Constitucional sobre el Estatut, en 2010, la desafección general hacia España aumenta, sobre todo al compás de las medidas y leyes recentralizadoras del Gobierno central y de la insistente búsqueda de un responsable externo para la incesante crisis económica por parte del Gobierno de la Generalitat.
