Cordiales y entrañables. Así son hoy las relaciones entre las grandes lenguas iberoamericanas, y así deben ser también las relaciones de los ciudadanos con la ciencia y las tecnologías. Sin embargo, los contenidos tradicionales de las asignaturas escolares no ayudan a que deje de parecer un tanto extraña y minoritaria esa parte tan importante de la cultura que es hoy la cultura científica. ¿Qué papel juegan las matemáticas en la aspereza con que muchos jóvenes perciben la ciencia escolar? ¿Cómo afectan las especialidades docentes y la formación del profesorado a la mistificación de la cultura científica en las aulas? ¿Hay otras formas de promoverla? ¿Tenemos experiencias valiosas que puedan servir de modelo?
