Este libro relata las particularidades de los enfrentamientos producidos durante diversos episodios de protesta, entre 1996 y 2002, en Cutral Có, Plaza Huincul, Neuquén, Corrientes, Tartagal, Gral. Mosconi y Puente Pueyrredón. Todos ellos vinculados con hechos de singular importancia en la historia reciente del conflicto social en la Argentina, durante años de profundización de la crisis económica y social. El autor hace un análisis, por un lado, del material publicado en los medios gráficos y por el otro, de entrevistas realizadas a los protagonistas, con el objetivo de revisar las diferentes interpretaciones de los hechos. La investigación pone en evidencia la existencia de un proceso de estigmatización y criminalización mediática de la protesta, desplegado en los momentos precisos en que la represión estatal se llevaba a cabo.
