Es una obra exploratoria sobre las posibilidades de un dúo de percusión que integra teclados de placas y multipercusión. Pretende hacer el máximo aprovechamiento de esta formación, exigiendo a los intérpretes no solo un alto nivel técnico, sino también versatilidad en el manejo de todo el set asignado a cada uno de ellos. En varias de las danzas se ha puesto especial énfasis en el trabajo y desarrollo de un discurso heterométrico inscrito en compases regulares. Estos rasgos son característicos de muchas de las danzas colombianas de ancestro africano.
