También pretende convertirse en una herramienta útil para la promoción y defensa de los derechos de los consumidores en nuestro país y en la región. Para tales efectos, los autores se han propuesto presentar de la manera más completa posible el derecho del consumo colombiano. En esta primera publicación, de carácter introductorio, se presentan las ideas más generales sobre el derecho del consumo: su origen e historia, los principios generales sobre la materia, los derechos de los consumidores y los mecanismos jurídicos instaurados para protegerlos.
