Esta obra compila algunas de las ponencias presentadas durante del II Simposio Iberoamericano de Pedagogía Social en Colombia, desarrollado enjunio de 2017 en la Universidad del Norte, con el respaldo del Fondo Nacional de Financiamiento para la Ciencia, la Tecnología y la Innovación "Francisco José de Caldas”, y en el que participaron investigadores de más de 20 universidades e instituciones cientí cas de Colombia, España, México, Portugal, Brasil, así como representantes de entidades o ciales y de la sociedad civil. La obra está dividida en siete capítulos que abordan temas como "Con ictos, educación para la paz y cultura de paz"; "Educación social y rehabilitación social"; "Diversidad, enfoques diferenciales y educación"; "Educación popular y comunitaria y animación sociocultural"; "Educación social con infancias, adolescencias y juventudes"; "Educación social escolar", y "Academia, instituciones, profesiones y pedagogía social en Iberoamérica y Colombia".
