Esta obra tiene como propósito delimitar el ámbito de la crónica, relacionar los elementos que han hecho posible la evolución de este género periodístico en América Latina y, sobre todo, reunir en un solo volumen sus diferentes dimensiones. Con ello se busca poner a disposición de estudiantes de pregrado, especialistas y lectores en general, información pertinente acerca de una de las formas del periodismo que de mejor forma puede dibujar una realidad o un hecho noticioso.
