Este libro recoge una traducción de los informes y bitácora de viaje que el ingeniero estadounidense Ray Floyd Weirick redactó a principios del siglo XX y que sirvieron de inspiración y referentes para que la Compañía Urbanizadora Parrish empezara las obras de construcción del barrio El Prado en la ciudad de Barranquilla. También incluye reflexiones en torno a estos documentos y su importancia para la historia arquitectónica de la ciudad y del Caribe.
