Nota preliminar: Algunos de los escritos que forman parte de este libro integraron otro que, bajo el mismo título, fué publicado hace varios años, en edición defectuosa y además tipográficamcnte incorrecta. Para su incorporación en el presente décimo tomo de la Biblioteca de la Universidad del Valle, esos escritos fueron revisados y sometidos -en su redacción- a numerosas modificaciones. Por lo cual el libro que ahora aparece constituye, en esa breve parte, sustitución plena del anterior.
La actual edición no tiene, en el ánimo del autor, sino el simple propósito de recoger trabajos literarios de varios motivos y época que pueden ser comprendidos bajo la denominación de "Estampas y Apologías".
