Intentar una exploración hoy es una tarea imprescindible para cualquier intelectual que transite hacia una comprensión del ser sujeto hoy en día. Esta obra conjunta aporta en dicha búsqueda al mostrarnos los intersticios del cruce entre la hipermodernidad, el neoliberalismo y la salud mental. No se trata tanto de cómo afecta uno a otro, sino de cómo el modo de vida que produce y genera el malestar se haya imbricado también en las condiciones de la existencia actual. Encontramos un diálogo entre Filosofía, Historia y Ciencias Sociales como herramientas analíticas que permitan desentrañar de qué modo el capitalismo tardío se introduce en nuestras sociedades latinoamericanas y cómo se convierte en un ámbito fundamental de la salud mental de la población. Pero por sobre todo el aporte de este escrito radica en cómo nos estimula a pensar una subjetividad histórica alternativa, que allí donde pareciera haber determinación, surja finalmente la potencia de imaginar otros mundos posibles.
