La "austeridad" impuesta aumentó la pobreza y las desigualdades sociales y debilitaron el Estado de Bienestar. Esta conmoción supuso un reto para las organizaciones de la izquierda española y, especialmente, para los sindicatos. Trascurrido el tiempo, es posible evaluar los resultados concretos de aquel ciclo de protestas que se extendió durante casi diez años y su utilidad ¿Sirvieron para algo?
