La evolución histórica del Estado
A lo largo de la historia de la humanidad el Estado ha logrado erigirse como la más relevante institución política. No obstante, no se trata de un ente único e inmutable, sino que ha ido desarrollándose a lo largo del tiempo, asumiendo una amplia gama de formas. En el presente trabajo se aborda dicha transformación desde una perspectiva interdisciplinar. Se analiza su evolución histórica hasta configurarse en Estado contemporáneo, confluencia del Estado moderno "completamente desarrollado" con el Estado nacional —procedente del nacionalismo— y el Estado liberal —modelado por el liberalismo político—. Finalmente, se presentan los elementos caracterizadores del modelo más avanzado en lo referente a los derechos, seguridad y libertades de los ciudadanos: el Estado social y democrático de derecho.
