A partir del título del libro de la revolucionaria italiana Rossana Rossanda, La ragazza del secolo scorso, el autor del presente libro nos propone un cuento homónimo, que a su turno se lo da al libro, en el que se narra la variabilísima condición humana a través de dos personajes que, reencontrados por azar en las gélidas salas de una clínica varias décadas después de sus avatares políticos conjuntos, los enfrenta a las contradicciones emanadas imperceptiblemente de la vida misma. Los otros cuentos de esta colección dejan entrever igualmente hasta qué punto la vida degrada o exalta las existencias y las conduce por vías imprevisibles, como si los seres humanos fueran incapaces de gobernar su propio destino.
