A lo largo de este trabajo se aborda el estudio de las formas sociales válidas para ejercer la actividad aseguradora, el objeto social de las entidades de seguros, su denominación social, el capital social y fondo mutual, el domicilio, los vínculos estrechos, el programa de actividades, los requisitos subjetivos de los socios y la dirección efectiva de la entidad de seguros. Todo ello teniendo en cuenta las recientes reformas acaecidas en el mercado asegurador a la luz de toda la normativa derivada de la Directiva 2009/138/CE del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, de 25 de noviembre de 2009, sobre el acceso a la actividad de seguro y de reaseguro y su ejercicio (Solvencia II).
