Los textos recogidos en este libro son artículos del periódico clandestino No Podemos Callar, editado entre septiembre de 1975 y enero de 1981. Sus realizadores fueron un colectivo de cristianas y cristianos de base encabezados por el sacerdote jesuita José Aldunate (1917-2019). Esta revista fue realizada clandestinamente por un colectivo de cristianas y cristianos que se asumía “en constante nacimiento”. En razón de su fe, el colectivo tuvo el coraje de arriesgar su propia vida para modular una voz política disidente. El primer número de la revista explicita que la “simple proclamación explícita de la verdad, asumir sus riesgos pero también su eficacia liberadora es la tarea de NO PODEMOS CALLAR”. Los integrantes de la publicación siguen siendo, en su inmensa mayoría, desconocidos hasta el día de hoy.
