De allí que en él se aborden los conceptos desde la filosofía del lenguaje, la teoría de la argumentación, el derecho, la filosofía política, la reflexión moral, la metodología científica y, hasta cierto punto, la literatura.
El lector podrá constatar que el panorama mendaciológico es mucho más amplio de lo que a primera vista se podría pensar. Es el trabajo de un filósofo y está escrito desde una óptica filosófica, pero el lector se dará cuenta de que no es una obra esotérica, ya que podrá ser leída por cualquier persona medianamente culta.
Si pudiera resumirse su intención en dos líneas, se podría decir que es una tentativa por desacademizar la filosofía sin vulgarizarla.
