Retos y tendencias del derecho electoral
La institucionalización de la participación ciudadana y de mecanismos de participación del pueblo en el ejercicio de su soberanía es la apuesta que hizo Colombia en la década de 1980. Motiva esta decisión política la falta de legitimación democrática de las instituciones, los representantes y los gobernantes, así como una necesidad de inclusión de los ciudadanos en las decisiones políticas y administrativas que los afectan. Por esta razón, las Facultades de Jurisprudencia y de Ciencia Política y Gobierno, en asocio con la Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil, se han propuesto realizar una reflexión académica de primer nivel y que corresponde a la especial coyuntura política, para poder sopesar los elementos democráticos, políticos, electorales y administrativos que juegan un especial rol en el desarrollo de nuestras instituciones democráticas.
