La historia sindical es, por definición, una historia con pocos nombres conocidos. En el caso de las mujeres, se añaden, además de la dificultad de llegar a puestos directivos, las barreras y prejuicios de género. Sí, también hubo sindicalistas porque siempre hubo trabajadoras, y porque las mujeres han participado de cuantas movilizaciones han acaecido a lo largo de la historia por un mundo mejor y más justo. Pero este no es tanto un libro histórico como un libro de historias, las de ocho luchadoras que supieron conectar sus reclamaciones como trabajadoras y como mujeres. Sindicalistas de peso podrían ser más, o podrían ser otras, pero en su conjunto los perfiles que componen este libro reflejan la diversidad existente en cuanto a territorios, ocupaciones, vivencias y generaciones. Con ellas, la intención es cubrir las diversas etapas de la organización desde la posguerra y el franquismo hasta la actualidad, rellenando por fin un vacío en la memoria obrera y sindical.
