Tres danzas para cuarteto de cuerda escritas para uno de los conjuntos orgánicos más tradicionales de la música en Occidente, esta obra está integrada por danzas procedentes de distintos géneros de la música típica de América Latina. El primer movimiento es una especie de tango inspirado en el estilo del gran compositor de ese género, Astor Piazzolla; el segundo recrea rasgos característicos del son cubano, y el tercero es una adaptación de toques característicos del pajarillo, una de las danzas emblemáticas de la música de la llanura colombo-venezolana
