Sinopsis
Como consecuencia del uso intensivo de prácticas inadecuadas de agricultura y ganadería, derivadas de la revolución verde en la región Andina, se tienen daños irreversibles en los recursos edáficos, hídricos y en la biodiversidad. Esto incide no solo en la producción y la productividad agropecuaria sino también en el desmejoramiento de la calidad de vida de las comunidades rurales que se sostienen a esta. Por ello, surgieron un conjunto de prácticas que aportan al manejo sustentable de los recursos naturales las cuales se conocen como “agricultura de conservación”.
Planteada como una alternativa a las tradicionales prácticas de agricultura y ganadería, se desarrolla a nivel global y, en especial, en la región andina. En estas páginas se demuestra la conveniencia desde las instituciones de educación superior de gestar procesos de formación de capital humano para la investigación y el acompañamiento en la difusión de esta innovación, principalmente hacia los productores rurales involucrados en la agricultura familiar
