Sinopsis
A partir de la presentación de las competencias básicas en los documentos emanados de la Ley Orgánica de Educación (LOE, 2006), el libro hace un recorrido por los organismos internacionales que se han ocupado del tema de las competencias y por la obra de aquellos expertos que han intervenido en la clarificación de su selección y contenidos, para encontrar la génesis de las ocho competencias básicas presentes en la Ley. Una vez explicitado el término en su acepción educativa, el libro se centra en la comprensión de cada una de las competencias y en su interrelación, cuestión muy importante para tratar de entender qué tipo de persona proyecta este conjunto de competencias y el acomodo de la misma a la sociedad que la recibe, con sus nuevos retos. Un aspecto interesante del libro es la estrecha vinculación entre competencias y contexto y el modo necesario de proceder para hacer efectiva la movilización de los conocimientos y la transferencia de los aprendizajes, ilustrada en el libro con numerosas sugerencias, actividades y recursos. Finalmente, se aborda la programación de etapa, incluyendo las competencias entre otros elementos curriculares.
