Este libro ofrece elementos para contestar a varios interrogantes sobre la cooperación internacional para el desarrollo, trazando un recorrido de su evolución basado en el análisis crítico de los diversos contextos políticos, económicos y sociales de la historia reciente; así como de los principales paradigmas y los actores que los han caracterizado. Además, esta investigación intenta perfilar la coyuntura en la que se encuentra la cooperación internacional y delinear los escenarios de su proyección futura después de la aprobación de la Agenda 2030 para el desarrollo sostenible. En este contexto, el autor evidencia procesos como el nuevo protagonismo de los países emergentes, la transición hacia un sistema internacional cada vez más multipolar y la creciente importancia en la cooperación del abordaje de temas propios de la gobernanza global.
