En este libro se presentan cuatro trabajos que reflexionan sobre el acontecer de la cultura política en los espacios locales, teniendo como contexto elecciones en el ámbito estatal, desde cómo se vislumbran la problemática y las contradicciones entre la sociedad civil y los actores políticos, hasta el análisis de las respuestas políticas de los diferentes sectores de la sociedad. Lo que evidencia el conjunto de textos es que la sociedad mexicana se encuentra en una constante búsqueda de caminos que tendrían como objetivo concretar las distintas manifestaciones de su cultura política y, además, de manera prioritaria, encontrar claras y certeras respuestas democráticas de las autoridades políticas.
