Sinopsis
La inseguridad social, la violencia generalizada y la impunidad que prevalecen en Ciudad Juárez, no pueden comprenderse a partir de enfoques que simplifican la complejidad de la vida e historia reciente de esa ciudad fronteriza. Para enfrentar eficazmente esa situación que lastima a la nación en su conjunto, es preciso ir más allá del discurso y de las acciones policiaco-judiciales. Por ello, el Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología auspició los trabajos de un amplio equipo de investigación, a través del Proyecto Género, violencia y diversidad cultural: propuestas de intervención educativa para impulsar relaciones de género basadas en la reciprocidad y el respeto, coordinado por académicos de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Unidad Iztapalapa y el Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social. Como resultado de este afán colectivo, ofrecemos a los lectores la Colección Diversidad sin Violencia, con el objetivo de difundir algunas reflexiones y propuestas que derivan del trabajo de investigación e intervención social en la frontera entre Ciudad Juárez y El Paso.
