Sinopsis
En el mundo contemporáneo donde se enfatizan las competencias y los resultados numéricos y contables por encima del impacto que su logro puede tener en la calidad de vida de las personas, este libro pretende comprender y evaluar nuestra labor en términos sociales y humanos. Evaluar al desempeño profesional solamente en términos de sus resultados contables constituye una reducción y una deshumanización del valor social del trabajo profesional y el papel que juega en la vida de los universitarios. Para evitar tal reduccionismo, abordamos aspectos emotivos y éticos del posicionamiento del docente de segundas lenguas con relación a su profesión.
Las preguntas de reflexión que nos planteamos responder en este libro son:
• ¿De qué forma han crecido los profesionales egresados de la facultad en el ejercicio de la docencia de lenguas?
• ¿Ha habido beneficios para los egresados por haber realizado estudios profesionales en nuestra facultad?
• ¿Cómo vive un profesional de la docencia de lenguas?
Este libro presenta nuestras reflexiones en torno al impacto que ha tenido la Facultad de Lenguas de la UAEMéx en el marco de cumplir sus 25 años de operación durante los que se ha dedicado a la formación profesional de docentes y traductores de la lengua inglesa y francesa.
