Este es el primer texto de la Red Internacional de Docencia Universitaria Lasallista (RIDUL), Red que reúne —en principio— a académicos y administrativos de cinco universidades lasallistas de Colombia, México y Brasil. Da cuenta de una investigación internacional en torno a la construcción de las identidades de maestros lasallistas de educación superior.
El texto ofrece una mirada amplia a la docencia, desde preguntas como: ¿Qué significa ser docente universitario en una institución lasallista?, ¿Cómo compaginan expectativas y presiones provenientes de la docencia, del trabajo profesional, de la vida personal y familiar?, ¿Qué caracteriza la educación universitaria lasallista hoy día?, ¿Qué metodologías didácticas se privilegian? y ¿Cómo se asumen aspectos de gestión institucional? Se presenta así un panorama que da pistas de comprensión sobre la docencia universitaria —en general— y la lasallista —en particular—, favoreciendo el acercamiento a miradas para un tema que aún requiere de mucha indagación, revisión e investigación: la comprensión, sentido, identidad, formación, quehacer, límites y posibilidades del ejercicio docente del ámbito universitario
