Sinopsis
La obra propuesta aquí al lector repasa, fabula y armoniza las variedades de la deformidad y de lo monstruoso que dibuja en sus cuentos y narraciones el autor de La Feria a partir de las siluetas del niño.
Traza una singular cartografía imantada por las cifras de la sátira y el discurso en torno al vértigo y al horror. Apoyada en la lectura acuciosa de los diversos textos de Juan José Arreola y en la de algunos críticos como Emmanuel Carballo y Sara Poot Herrera.
Imelda Sevilla renueva la recepción de la obra del autor con su original y cuidadosa exposición de lo grotesco en su arquitectura narrativa.

El libro aquí presentado es una reelaboración de la tesis galardonada por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras y la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua con el Premio Joaquín García Icazbalceta en 2019.
