Sinopsis
En América Latina y España, la evaluación docente es una práctica relativamente reciente que comparte algunas especificidades: pocos instrumentos confiables para la recolección de información que contribuya a la mejora de la docencia; deficiente involucramiento y responsabilidad de los distintos actores implicados en los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje; se piensa que la evaluación del desempeño del docente está principalmente dirigida a cumplir las funciones de control y fiscalización gubernamental y social, y que poco contribuye al perfeccionamiento profesional de los docentes.
En México, la experiencia de evaluar la docencia es muy reciente, no ha sido institucionalizada en la mayoría de las instituciones de educación superior y arrastra los problemas antes descritos más los endémicos al sistema educativo mexicano. Ante este panorama, los miembros de la RIED elaboraron el presente libro para contar con una diagnóstico de la evaluación del desempeño docente en las universidades públicas del país. Este estudio es, pues, un libro-mapa imprescindible para conocer las entrañas de una parte del gran aparato de la educación en el México contemporáneo.
