Sinopsis
La promoción del bienestar es esencial en el proceso de recuperación de los problemas de salud mental y se ha demostrado que es más rápida y completa. Incluso en el caso de los trastornos mentales más graves, en los que siempre ha existido una visión pesimista del pronóstico, existe una creciente conciencia de la necesidad de incorporar componentes de la psicología positiva, centrándose en los procesos que promueven el bienestar, así como en las fortalezas y recursos del individuo.
Este manual proporciona un protocolo de intervención grupal complementario a la terapia psicológica habitual centrada en el síntoma y los déficits. La estructura de las sesiones facilita la implementación de estrategias que promuevan el bienestar y la recuperación. Los objetivos de la intervención son mejorar el bienestar de las personas sin negar la existencia de lo negativo (problemas o síntomas), centrándose en generar positividad (emociones positivas, esperanza...) y en desarrollar acciones congruentes con lo que es importante para cada persona. Este protocolo complementa y no sustituye las intervenciones tradicionales de psicología y psiquiatría para los trastornos de salud mental, aunque las intervenciones descritas en el protocolo pueden mejorar también el bienestar de otros colectivos sin trastornos de salud mental (es decir, estudiantes, profesionales, etc.).
