Geofísica y arqueología en el Valle del Cauca a principios del siglo XXI
Sinopsis
Presenta los resultados de cuatro proyectos realizados entre 1995 y 2010. Trata de los estudios pioneros en Colombia sobre la aplicación de métodos geoeléctricos y radioactivos en investigaciones arqueológicas. El primer capítulo expone los resultados de un proyecto realizado en la vereda Campoalegre (Ginebra), en 2006, donde se identifican dos pequeños poblados de la cultura prehispánica Quimbaya Tardío 1 (500-1300 d.C.), conformados por unas veinte terrazas antiguas, con dimensiones entre 41-334 m2, ubicadas a 1970-2060 m. s. n. m.
El segundo capítulo presenta el trabajo llevado a cabo en la mina La Calera (corregimiento Mulaló, Yumbo), en 2008, con el objetivo de establecer la presencia o ausencia de actividades antrópicas prehispánicas. Se implementó una metodología transdisciplinaria que incluyó la inspección visual del sitio y la utilización de técnicas geofísicas (geoeléctrica), pedológicas (análisis estratificación natural o cultural) y arqueológicas (sondeos con mediacaña y pozos de sondeo). Los trabajos se concentraron en el sector bajo de coluvios, se prospectaron intensivamente 964 m-, realizando 43 isolíneas de resistividad eléctrica (transectos), empleando un sistema radial.
