George Steiner es una figura decisiva en el mundo de las ideas de nuestros días. Concebida como un homenaje a su memoria a un año de su fallecimiento, en febrero de 2020, George Steiner: Lectura y catarsis. Doce papeles y una bibliografía es una obra singular en más de un sentido. Reúne una serie de ensayos, apuntes y escritos a lo largo de los ensayos sobre este pensador europeo contemporáneo. Incluye un ensayo bibliográfico y hemerográfico del autor. La obra aspira a ser a la vez una bitácora y un testimonio de la presencia de este ensayista en México y en el mundo hispanoamericano e hispánico al que el autor de estas páginas ha traducido y tratado en persona durante su visita a México en 1997, cuanto visitó nuestro país para despedirse de su amigo Octavio Paz.
