En este libro se analizan algunos de los escritores que produjeron sus obras principales o representativas en los años cincuenta del siglo xx, brillante momento de la literatura de México en todos los géneros. Se estudian distintos aspectos de autores reconocidos, plenamente legitimados y muy trascendentes para nuestra tradición literaria como Octavio Paz, Francisco Rojas González, Juan Rulfo, José Revueltas, Jorge López Páez, Emilio Carballido, Enriqueta Ochoa, Carlos Pellicer, Germán List Arzubide y Andrés Henestrosa. Así pues, este libro ofrece una mirada crítica a textos literarios de distintos géneros: narrativa, teatro, poesía, etc. Lo anterior supone que, en la lectura de los artículos, asistiremos a la puesta en operación de diversos enfoques teórico-metodológicos que enriquecerán, de algún modo, la mirada crítica de los lectores que se acerquen a este volumen. Dado lo anterior, uno de los atractivos de este libro es que devela algunos de los principales valores estéticos de la época.
