La Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, proclamada por la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas en 1948, situó la dignidad humana entre los conceptos fundamentales de la Filosofía Moral. Desde entonces, los medios de comunicación han desempeñado un papel decisivo en su promoción y salvaguarda; pero también en la construcción y diseminación de indignidades. La obra examina esa doble faz en la sociedad actual, mediante el análisis de algunos relatos paradigmáticos donde los medios despliegan todo su potencial: las informaciones sobre los geriátricos al inicio de la pandemia; los procesos de resignificación del pasado cultural; el sensacionalismo de los "reality shows" en la construcción social de los personajes femeninos, y el repaso de las (in)dignidades más recurrentes del entorno digital.
