Intervenir para reparar: recuperación de la dignidad y la salud mental en contextos de violencia
Sinopsis
Desde el año 2005 el Grupo de Investigación en Desarrollo Humano —GIDHUM— y el Programa de Psicología de la Universidad del Norte (Colombia), en
conjunto con la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (España) y la Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (El Salvador), han desarrollado una serie de
investigaciones en torno a la salud mental de las personas expuestas a la violencia sociopolítica y de género, partiendo del supuesto de que la salud mental
es algo más que la mera ausencia de trastorno, y que tanto en un caso como en otro el protagonista es un sujeto socio-histórico. Los resultados de dichas
investigaciones fueron útiles para proponer dos programas de intervención, que se soportan en tres estrategias capaces de dotar a estas personas, y a las
comunidades a las que pertenecen, de herramientas para poder enfrentarse a los eventos estresantes que han de nido su vida en el pasado y a los que puedan
sobrevenir en el futuro. La experiencia de estos programas de intervención constituye el objetivo de este texto.
