Esta introducción a la contabilidad describe el modelo contable básico y su aplicación a la normativa vigente del Plan General de Contabilidad. El desarrollo de la parte teórica está acompañado de test de evaluación de los conocimientos adquiridos y supuestos prácticos con soluciones para facilitar el estudio y asimilar los conocimientos. Se explican los conceptos de patrimonio empresarial y el funcionamiento del modelo contable, el movimiento de las cuentas patrimoniales y de gestión, la determinación del resultado y las fases del ciclo contable, el inventario y las cuentas anuales. Sobre esta base se muestra la estructura y marco conceptual del Plan General de Contabilidad, abordando cada una de las áreas del balance y de los resultados (existencias, inmovilizado, instrumentos financieros, recursos propios, etc.).
