La construcción de ciudadanía parte del reconocimiento de las distintas situaciones, expectativas, necesidades y comprensiones del mundo de los conciudadanos. Sin embargo, tales comprensiones se establecen a partir de los propios parámetros de significación del mundo social, los que muchas veces riñen con comprensiones alternativas. En ese sentido, el diálogo con las nuevas generaciones y la formación ciudadana requieren la comprensión del mundo desde el punto de vista de los jóvenes, así como el establecimiento de diálogos que les permitan a ellos comprender las razones y motivaciones de quienes les han antecedido en el mundo político.
Este libro presenta variadas reflexiones como respuesta a la necesidad de identificar las dinámicas sociales y culturales que están implicadas en la configuración de las diferentes prácticas, representaciones y conocimientos acerca de la convivencia, el ejercicio ciudadano y la construcción de paz en el interior de la comunidad. Presenta además estrategias didácticas que han sido validadas en el aula por la autora, las cuales se plantean a manera de provocación para la construcción de ciudadanía desde el aula en el marco del diálogo intergeneracional.
