Este trabajo va a movilizar la malla de lectura analítica propuesta en los trabajos de Figuière y Guilhot (2006, 2007). En efecto, este marco analítico permite advertir del conjunto de las modalidades adoptadas por los procesos regionales dentro del marco de la globalización. Ella busca combinar las dimensiones inherentes al fenómeno regional como son las realidades económicas e institucionales. El análisis combinado de estos dos pilares permitirá evaluar el alcance de un proceso de integración regional particular, en este caso, aquel que está actualmente en marcha dentro de la CAN.
