Sinopsis
El presente estudio relata la conformación y mestizaje nahua-chichimeca que formó al poderoso pueblo azteca. Pueblo guerrero que dominó, desde Dakota hasta el lago Manahua, en Centroamérica, y permaneció cerca de 200 años. Se describen también los orígenes de la traza urbana, las principales invariantes formales aztecas, obligadas por el dinámico rey Ahizotl. De vital importancia es detallar los reinados que, en las faldas de la cordillera sur del Ajusco, desarrollaron y formaron siete tribus llamadas "tlahuicas", tributarias todas de la gran Tenochitlan.
Otras de las ideas fundamentales descritas en este relato es conocer los súbitos cambios culturales provocados por el dominio de los europeos; analizar la yuxta traza urbana obligada por el rey español; y estudiar la herencia catequizadora que edificaron en los conventos cristianos, un selecto grupo de ilustres Eramistas, quienes en sus bellos monasterios, conservaron -en forma esotérica- elementos e invariantes formales aztecas, judías y mudéjares. Estos elementos arquitectónicos toman especial atención durante la obra, mas allá de la contrareforma cristiana contraria a la que impulsaron como un sueño utópico religioso y social el grupo de monjes franciscanos, dominicos y agustinos de los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII en toda Mesoamérica y en especial en la zona Tlahuica.
