La gobernanza urbana y metropolitana en la era del cambio climático es un libro colectivo que compila investigaciones de naturaleza multidisciplinaria e interdisciplinaria en un campo emergente de las ciencias sociales: las implicaciones políticas e institucionales del citado problema socio-ecológico. A partir del modelo de gobernanza, particularmente la gobernanza multinivel, global e interactiva, se realizan diferentes aproximaciones teóricas hacia dicho objeto de estudio. Desde esta perspectiva, se analizan los actuales arreglos institucionales de la gobernanza y la política climática en el marco del federalismo y sus interacciones con las estructuras y procesos de los gobiernos sub-nacionales y locales. Contiene significativas aportaciones teóricas y empíricas acerca de las capacidades institucionales de los gobiernos urbanos y metropolitanos, especialmente en el caso de la Ciudad de México y la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México, con énfasis en las interacciones con los diversos actores y arenas socio-ambientales en las políticas públicas en este campo.
