Sinopsis
Las investigaciones que componen el presente volumen giran en torno a tres ejes principales: el estudio de las lenguas de señas, la comunidad sorda y la educación del sordo; y abordan aspectos tales como la organización cerebral de las lenguas de señas, sus aspectos estructurales, la comunicación mediática, aspectos históricos y la situación actual y futura de la enseñanza, entre otros.
Los autores nos presentan una muestra de temas que se han discutido desde hace décadas en este ámbito. Si bien provienen de diferentes disciplinas y ámbitos de estudio e investigación, así como de diferentes universidades nacionales y extranjeras, tienen en común el interés por la comunidad sorda y su lengua.
Es de destacar la participación de compañeros y colaboradores sordos en estas investigaciones, va por ellos y para ellos.
