El eurocentrismo e imperialismo de Napoleón III encontraron un campo de acción aparentemente idóneo en México. Ambos emperadores, el Habsburgo y el pequeño Napoleón, se equivocaron: México demostró sus capacidades independentistas y, de paso pero no menos importante, su rango cultural.
