Sinopsis
Melecio Galván (1945-1982) desarrolló su trabajo como ilustrador al margen de los cánones establecidos por la academica, se mantuvo ajeno a los circuitos comerciales privados y se pronunció por un arte público, crítico y social. Fue miembro del emblemático Grupo Mira (1977-1981) y estuvo vinculado ala movimiento artístico de los Grupos, además de colaborar como ilustrador en La Semana de Bellas Artes. Desarrolló un estilo propio que conjugó un virtuosismo técnico en el dibujo y una composición precisa y depurada. Melecio Galván y su espacio significativo es una rigurosa investigación a partir de un selecto conjunto de documentos y obras representativas; donde se analizan sus influencias y se revisa con detalle la propuesta poética: la ficción y el trastorno; la ilusión de mundos contrastantes frente a una realidad que inquieta y desconcierta y la crítica directa al discurso de poder. La novedosa aproximación de este estupido plantea una nueva significación y reflexión sobre Melecio Galván dentro del arte mexicano contemporáneo.
