Fue escrito por el célebre historiador michoacano Luis González y González, propulsor de la historia “matria”, y fundador de uno de los centros de investigación social más importantes de México, El Colegio de Michoacán.
La presente edición, que es una selección de textos escritos por González, está ilustrada por trazos figurativos de linograbados elaborados por otro ilustre michoacano: Artemio Rodríguez. En su conjunto es una atractiva publicación que integra el genio creativo de las artes visuales con la insuperable prosa narrativa de uno de los divulgadores de la historia más importantes que ha dado nuestro país.
