Uno de los problemas más acuciantes de la educación formal en estos días es la brecha existente entre teoría y práctica educativa. Una prometedora alternativa para franquear esta brecha la constituyen los estudios sobre las modalidades de conducción y en especial aquellas que destacan tres aspectos fundamentales: 1) El contacto directo del aprendiz con un objeto concreto o abstracto de la realidad por aprender; 2) la actividad del aprendiz en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje; y 3) los contextos de aprendizaje de alta relevancia cultural y social. Este libro realiza una particular contribución en el campo educativo al estudiar las modalidades de conducción diseñadas para educar a profesionales de la biología en la ejecución de una actividad compleja: el diagnóstico ecológico, con el propósito de habilitarlo para enfrentar adecuadamente las demandas de la crisis ambiental actual.
