En medio de todo lo que sin duda es la mayor novedad de la presente obra es su análisis sobre los alcances de la integración económica colombo-venezolana respecto de los nuevos relacionamientos internacionales de ambos países, en especial el Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Colombia y los Estados Unidos y la adhesión de Venezuela al Mercosur, respectivamente.
