El nuevo libro de Evguenia Roubina inaugura la colección Joyas Musicales de la Catedral de Valladolid-Morelia, concebida con el propósito de difundir el nuevo conocimiento generado por su autora en torno al contenido y el valor de uno de los principales acervos musicales históricos del país que se encuentra en custodia de ese recinto. Dedicado en esta ocasión a una significativa y antes desconocida parte del legado artístico de José Manuel Delgado, patriarca de una célebre dinastía de músicos novohispanos, y de su hijo José Francisco Delgado y Fuentes, el estudio se enfoca en la reconstrucción, con base en el vasto corpus de fuentes primarias y en su absoluta mayoría inéditas, de los pormenores de la vida personal y profesional de estos dos destacados exponentes del arte musical de la época postrera del virreinato cuya obra se inscribe con firmeza dentro de la estética del clasicismo.
