A partir de la premisa del cuidado de la vida como responsabilidad individual y social, este estudio aporta metodologías alternativas para el estudio de lo corporal y sus dinamismos internos (a lo que llamamos emociones) mediados por el lenguaje y modelados por el entorno cultural e ideológico, la alimentación y las variadas disposiciones familiares. Tras aplicar herramientas hermenéuticas originadas en el pensamiento chino tradicional, según el cual los fenómenos naturales se expresan en cinco fases interrelacionadas y en continuo movimiento, los autores advierten constantes profundamente significativas en entrevistas con niños de educación básica. Sus resultados apuntan a la urgente necesidad de replantear la educación de las emociones en forma consistente con la construcción de colectividades sanas, equilibradas y afirmadoras del a dignidad de todos sus integrantes. De esta manera, la escuela podrá contribuir a la creación consciente de comunidades cada vez más amplias y abarcadoras, orientadas a un cuidado de la vida incluyente y fructífero
