Sinopsis
Con gran alegría celebramos la aparición del nº 2 de nuestra revista. Fue un trabajo muy intenso que, felizmente, culminó con un resultado agradable. Elegimos un diseño de portada que habla a las claras de nuestra vocación “sureadora”. Simón Rodríguez enseñaba, en el contexto post-independentista de nuestras repúblicas, una de las máximas que acompañarían al pensamiento latinoamericano, en su aventura como alternativa de comprensión crítica de nuestras opresivas realidades: “o inventamos o erramos”. Posteriormente, José Martí subrayaría en 1891 que “pensar es servir”. Y, ya en los albores del siglo XX, desde Montevideo Joaquín Torres-García declararía enfático que “Nuestro norte es el Sur” y lo dejaría vanguardistamente impreso en 1903 en un mapa simbólico que aludía a toda Nuestra América (incluyendo, por supuesto, a El Caribe, a
todo el territorio mexicano y, también, a la mitad de ese territorio mexicano arrebatado por los USA). Ahora queremos simbolizar con este mapa, donde la luna también está al revés, donde los peces nadan sobre el agua, etcétera, también a esa Nuestra América peregrina, que anda en la mochila de nuestros emigrantes en el Norte de este mundo y también en Europa y en otras partes del globo.
